49-Hour Animation Competition 2012

Our second year entering into the 49-hour film competition hosted by the MG Collective. This year we got it in on time, had a lot of fun, and did it all with just 4 people instead of 5. Not only that, but other than myself, the group was entirely made of sophomores. Really proud of them. I think we all got a total of 9-11 hours of sleep each over the span of the weekend, but man, it was exhilarating for us creatively! Put our skills to the test in a small timeframe! This year’s theme was more open to interpretation, which I think is why it was so fun for all the Huntington University groups. This my group’s take on “panic”. Enjoy!

The whole thing reminded me of the series Marble Hornets, with its use of suspense and minimalism. The monochrome black and white colors also suited it very well. Nice job here, friend.

    • Thanks Jordan. I’ll have to look into the Marble Hornets, it has me intrigued.

I think you’d really like it. It’s very different from a lot of horror films I’ve seen, because it’s more about what you hear, don’t see or barely notice rather than what’s shoved in your face. You can find the whole series on YouTube now, though it isn’t finished yet; it’s in its third and final season right now, with two entries uploaded monthly.
